Who we are
At FLN we say that we 'open doors to the community' by providing education, support and friendship.
FLN believes in community and the values of fairness, equality and respect. We
demonstrate these values by:
- Celebrating diversity and encouraging inclusiveness.
- Making people feel welcome and creating an environment where they feel safe.
- Encouraging participation in our organisation and in the community.
- Acknowledging that our achievements are the result of collaboration between staff, volunteers, students and our many supporters in the community and government.
- Working as a team that is flexible, adaptable, creative, innovative and responsive.
Our aim is to:
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for people to learn and participate.
- Provide a bridge between the Australian community and newcomers, including refugees and asylum seekers.
- Give people a voice and provide a sense of belonging and meaning.
- Provide relevant skills and education to disadvantaged people.
- Be a well managed and financially sustainable community organisation which helps our communities to develop.
- Provide opportunities for staff and volunteers to share their skills and gain new skills and experiences.
